Holy Trinity Parish is currently working on several on-going maintenance projects and a few internal Church improvement projects. Several of these projects are being funded exclusively by specific parishioner donations and the remaining through contributions earmarked into our Parish Permanent Improvement Fund.
Thanks to these funding resources, we are able to keep our buildings and grounds in safe, functional and proper working condition to avoid major repairs in the future and maintain the beauty of our Church property.
If you see areas of neglect to any of our buildings & grounds, or if you are interested in contributing personally toward areas/items you feel important … please contact our parish office at 419-678-4802 or one of our Parish representatives listed in the bulletin.
A sincere “Thank You” to all of you who have, and continue to donate your time, talent and treasure toward our parish improvements. Your contributions are vital in keeping our Parish operating effectively.

Project #1: Power-Wash & Painting of all exterior metal stairs and railings of Fr Yauss Center & Church
This project was completed in June with all labor & materials donated by “Do Right Painting” of Coldwater.
All external black metal staircases and railings of the Fr Yauss Center and Church were power washed and repainted black.
Project #2: Concrete repair of West Wing entry steps and sidewalks
This project was completed in July by Midwest Concrete using funds from our Parish Permanent Improvement Fund.
Work included repair of the bottom step leading into the West Wing, replacement of the broken and cracked concrete sidewalk leading to the Server’s Sacristy and external Choir room entrances and the corner section of sidewalk leading to the side west entrance of the church
Project #3: Paver Brick repair on west side of church along SR118
This project was completed in July by Uhlenhake Landscaping using funds from our Parish Permanent Improvement for the labor costs with pavers donated by the Village of Coldwater.
Over time, nearly 50 of the paver bricks had either crumbled or broken out completely, leaving trip hazards along the west sidewalk of the church and Fr Yauss Center.
Project #4: North Parking lot asphalt repair, crack & surface seal and re-paint
This project was completed in July by Mercer Asphalt using funds from our Parish Permanent Improvement Fund and a large donation from the Coldwater K of C organization.
The asphalt has now been repaired and resealed several times over the years and due to the gradual degradation of the base, this will likely be the final time we can simply fill and reseal all the cracks before an entirely new surface is needed in about 5 years. In addition to the repair of all cracks and resealing the surface, we also took this opportunity to fix the annoying “speed dips” in the entrance drive near The Grotto as well as the exposed stone area near the water tower from repairs made from a water main break this past winter. An unexpected but urgent repair of the “small sinkhole” within the handicap parking slots resulted in the discovery of the crumbling cistern left over from the former Sister’s house which used to reside in this location. This 6’ diameter and 10’ deep sinkhole was properly repaired and compacted prior to adding new asphalt and sealing. After repair/re-sealing, all parking lines & handicap spaces were re-painted. Several low spots remain that can only be addressed through a new surface project.
Project #5: Infant-Of-Prague statue
This statue along with seasonal vestments, the support shelf and structural mounting were all provided by anonymous donors from members of our parish. The shelf is located near Mary’s side altar and a special dedication will be planned for the installation by end of summer.
Project #6: Repair & repaint of interior north wall behind altar, dome ceiling above altar & St Joseph altar
This work will be completed October 13 - 23, 2025 by Brian Brothers Painting using funds from our Parish Permanent Improvement fund.
A significant horizontal crack is present along the interior north wall directly behind the High Altar in addition to paint chipping on the back wall and ceiling (dome) above the High Altar. There are also areas of paint chipping near St Joseph’s side altar that will be addressed. The church was last painted ~25 years ago.
Note that a large amount of scaffolding will be in place for ~2 weeks during this work period.
Project #7: Create a more open entrance into the main body of church.
This work will take place in late 2025 by Rose Construction using funds from our Parish Permanent Improvement Fund. Carpet repair will be completed by Enyart Flooring.
The entrance area immediately into the entrance of church beyond the Vestibule doors has been extremely confining for families at funerals and baptisms as well as special processions during Christmas and Easter celebrations. Our baptismal font will continue to reside in the sanctuary when not utilized during Baptisms. Example photos from the Cathedral Of The Immaculate Conception church in Ft Wayne merely show how the extra space might appear.
Approximately 24” (one seat) will be removed from each side of the first three rows of the center aisle to provide more entry space. This will effectively open the center aisle from 6’ to 10’ for the first three rows of pews as one enters church from the vestibule doors.
Project #8: New Tabernacle
A new Tabernacle has been purchased and will arrive in early 2026 using funds from generous parish donors including members of the Joe & Donna Rose family in memory of their parents.
Although the present tabernacle has served our needs for many years, it is actually very small considering the bottom mounting base does not provide any actual enclosure space. Most of our ciborium are >12” tall and the present 11” door height opening has resulted in many of them being scratched and damaged over the years while attempting to place them into the tabernacle. The new domed tabernacle is 36”H x 19”D with a door opening of 14”H x 9.5”W.
The new lockable tabernacle will be cylindrical rather than the present rectangular shape and includes a distinctive arched dome replicating the profile of the church apse (vaulted area above the high altar). Our new tabernacle will be a magnificent addition to the central focus of our Church. There are several options on where to utilize the present tabernacle within the local area or as a possible gifting to a new start-up Catholic missionary church.
Project #9: Painting highlights to the Corpus above tabernacle and artistic back drop behind the Corpus
This project will be completed in coordination with the arrival of the new tabernacle. The artwork is intended to draw more attention to the central focus of Christ’s gift to us all. If you are interested in donating to this project, please contact us at the Parish Office for details. (The above photos are sample of what has been done in other churches.)
Project #10: Repair of the screens in front of the former pipe organ pipes on both sides of the choir loft
This project will be completed sometime over the next few months using funds from our Parish Permanent Improvement fund and should be an easy and low-cost fix.
The screens have simply become brittle with age and need to be replaced and painted. We’ll maintain the present frame structure and merely replace the screen material.
