history of st. anthony parish

Originally Called Padua

The village of St. Anthony was settled in the 1830's by German immigrants. The center of the settlement was the intersection of the present State Route 49 and St. Anthony Rd in Washington Township, Mercer County, Ohio. Originally called Padua, it is still designated by that name on some maps.
